“This lady has a voice that reminds you of Julie London, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn all rolled into one!. Smooth, Mellow...and Sassy!”
-Aundra Fusilier

"Ella & Sarah"

In this program honoring Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn, Cassandra chronicles the vocal stylings of these ladies of jazz while telling the stories of their rise to stardom. "A simply gorgeous voice!

"It's all about the music," says  Cassandra, "Next stop, the Grammy's"

(An expanded version of this program is also available as a duet theatrical presentation with soubrette coloratura soprano,  Kijana Wiseman)

In 2005, Cassandra was on the world famous Showtime at the Apollo.  This former member of the HCC Jazz Group, "Grafitti" Mark Holter's Jazz Ensemble and the all girls' group, the Jive Sisters was also a cast member for the hit gospel play.”Lord Send Me the Right Man.”  As a contestant for KPRC-TV’s   “Gimme the Mic,”  Cassandra competed with over 700 other hopefuls who had to sing, without music, in front of a panel of judges. KPRC-TV opened the voting to the public who voted over the internet or through their cell phones. The judges chose five finalists and Cassandra was one of the five.

One television judge compared Cassandra with Sarah Vaughn and suggested she try her voice on Broadway

....The following program is a result of that advice..

“When I listen to Cassandra live or on CD,  it reminds me of walks in a prairie of flowers!  Simply awesome.

-William G.Brisker

“Cassandra has sultry voice that is beautiful and melodic. Listening to her sing makes you forget all the care of the world and you feel at peace and warm. My boyfriend and I went out to an engagement to hear Cassandra sing and when it was over he did not want to leave. He said by far listening to her sing is the best show he has ever seen hands down. He liked her voice and style because she is sweet, romantic. and soft. Her voice is so calming and soothing. I try to attend all her engagements because I believe in her and she is so talented. She definitely has found her niche in singing jazz. Every song that she sings has her own twist of beauty. My favorite song that she sings is "The Look of Love"  it seems to take me away. I hope that when I wed I can have her to sing for me.“  -Angela Stone
