Here, Kyra Noons performs original song "Hold On” in memory of her sister & former partner Bianca Noons

Born in Nairobi, Kenya, Africa, to an English father and Jamaican mother, Kyra’s early musical influence stems from childhood when she and her late sister, Bianca were rocked as babies to the chanting and drumming sounds of the MASAI warriors.  Her father later moved  the family to England;  then to Jamaica where the children spent their teen years before settling (for now) in America.

Kyra’s unique blend of sounds tell the story of her upbringing: African intensity...a dash of british timing...mixed with the reggae heartbeats of Jamaica and seasoned with the diverse influences of American flava!

Kyra has performed with Bounty Killer, Beres Hammond and Buju Banton, Bone Thugs and Harmony, Lady Saw, Wayne Wonder, Fat Joe, Lil' Kim, Mr. Blacc Sheep, Beenie Man and many others.  Her solo albums and songs with her late sister and partener Bianca, are played at radio stations all over the world.

Kyra performs at the 2012 Fiesta Black History  Month Celebration...

Above, are 12 minutes of excerpts from Kyra’s  recent performance at the Houston Public Library’s Downtown “Tunes at Noon”  outdoor luncheon concert on the plaza.
